Weekend Wear.
I don’t know about you but having a three day weekend right smack in the middle of January is EXACTLY what I needed! January is always such a crazy month as we’re getting caught up on real life post-holidays while also taking on plenty of new projects as ambitions are soaring. I tackled a big apartment purge project on Saturday and feel so much better already – it’s amazing how much stuff we can accumulate!
On any typical weekend you’re likely to find me in some variation of this outfit. Denim. A cozy sweater (cashmere preferably!). Sneakers. It’s become a uniform of sorts as it works for just about anything in San Francisco, all year ’round. I’ve gushed plenty about Madewell’s denim around here but for anyone who hasn’t tried ’em yet… they are the best. I’ve always struggled with fit on denim since I have a bit of a booty + muscular thighs which means that most jeans end up being huge in the waist if they fit well everywhere else, but Madewell’s high rise skinny jeans fit super well and last forever (they don’t get stretched out or saggy!). You can also bring ANY pair of denim to one of their stores and swap in as a donation to their denim recycling program for $20 off for a new pair of their jeans. Win!
I’ve also been on a serious sneaker kick lately (as you’ve probably noticed if you follow me on Instagram Stories!). Gone are the days where I have any tolerance for uncomfortable shoes and the right pair of sneakers can add an element of effortless cool to any outfit (French girl chic, anyone?). I’m usually not a pink girl but these blush Nikes were just too good to pass up – they’re a combination of velvet, suede and patent and have been on heavy repeat lately.
Do you have a weekend uniform? Anyone else tackle a big project over the three day weekend?
