Goodbye, San Francisco.

Goodbye, San Francisco.

Happy Friday! While the past few weeks have been slightly insane with the scramble to sell and purge most of my belongings, pack up my apartment and prepare to move across the country, they’ve also been so much fun. I moved to San Francisco only having visited the city once before to apartment hunt, I knew very little about the 7×7 and it’s hills, and even fewer people here and in only 3.5 short years, really made it my own.

This grey city by the bay taught me a lot of things. To be confident in my independence. That the best inspiration is found in others. The importance of pressing pause and hitting reset sometimes. It opened my eyes to new beauties, both around me and within myself, and made me feel proud of my own path yet intensely respectful of the others around me. Our time together seemed to be full of as many ups and downs and twists and turns, as its windy streets and famous hills but I wouldn’t change a thing.

Goodbye, San Francisco.

I’m leaving San Francisco so happy with the time I spent here and with a heart so full of love for the people that it’s brought into my life and the incredible memories made in this strange, foggy little city. Timing couldn’t be more right and I’m so excited about the next chapter – it’s one that’s new yet familiar with plenty of friends and memories scattered throughout New York. It’s a homecoming of sorts, to the place where I started my career, and nearby to my family and hometown. It’s a journey across the country to the place where it all started, to the coast I left almost 7 years ago, and instantly watched my life change as I looked back in the rear view mirror. It’s a new adventure rooted in my own past. A city of hustle and never ending motion. Of bright lights and sleepless nights. New York, I’m yours.
