An Easy Friendsgiving Brunch. An Easy Friendsgiving Brunch.

Friendsgiving has become a big thing over the past few years, and rightfully so! Friends are something I’m thankful for every single day and after seeing the buzz around Friendsgiving grow, I decided that this year I finally wanted to host a little get together of my own.

I happen to be one of those weird people who doesn’t like turkey (I know, lame) AND also doesn’t enjoy cooking so I knew a traditional Thanksgiving meal wasn’t right for me – enter the Friendsgiving brunch! I’m a firm believer that nothing beats a killer brunch so I decided to host some friends for Sunday brunch to celebrate the amazing friendships I’ve formed in my two years in San Francisco.

When it comes to hosting, outsourcing is my new favorite party trick. As soon as I started my Friendsgiving planning, I knew I needed to bring in some help to pull the party off amongst the chaos of my calendar and immediately started with Angie’s List where you can easily sign up free with memberships starting at $25 a year and find trusted professionals in your area to help with just about anything. From cleaners to handymen, with more than ten million certified reviews of local service pros, Angie’s List has been trusted by more than 3 million people to help them find the right person for the task at hand.

To take the stress out of hosting Friendsgiving, I immediately booked a house cleaner I found on Angie’s List to make clean up a breeze – there’s nothing worse than dealing with mounds of dishes and a messy space after guests leave! I’ve had some seriously bad experiences with cleaners I’ve booked online in the past so it was amazing to read through reviews and book with someone with a proven track record for being reliable and thorough.

As I started brainstorming the details of the brunch, I knew this was the perfect excuse to make my donut wall dreams come true with a little extra help from a handyman. Angie’s List again made the entire process so easy and I was able to hire someone to do the entire project – from the Home Depot run to painting the pegboard to cutting the dowels – saving me time and stress. The donut wall was SUCH a hit and a really fun way to serve one of my all time favorite foods! Hosting parties can really stress me out but once the space was set up and guests arrived (and let’s be real, mimosas were consumed!), I was the happiest lady around – the food was amazing thanks to goodies from local favorites Vive La Tarte and Dynamo Donuts, the decor was exactly as I had envisioned it and it was basically the best thing ever to have so many of my San Francisco friends in one place. My first Friendsgiving was basically a gigantic pinch me moment and I already can’t wait to throw another bash next year.
